The two day long DAV National Sports (Cluster level) Badminton, Chess, Table Tennis, Judo & Yoga Tournaments -2015 were inaugurated by Shri Pankaj Kamboj ,IPS,DIG North Chotanagpur, Shri Deepak Verma,IG (Retd.), Shri Parikshit Tiwari, Secretary, Jharkhand Judo Association,Shri Dinesh Khandelwal,Vice-Chairman LMC, Hazaribag , Shri O.P.Yadav, Principal DAV Koderma and Shri Ashok Kumar , Principal, DAV Hazaribag by unfurling the sports flag.  While getting introduced with the participants, the Chief Guest motivated them by saying that they must play with team spirit and enthusiasm. He also said winning or losing the game doesn’t matter. What matters the most is the willing and active participation in the event.

 Sports keep the body and mind healthy. It is must for us to be physically fit to get success in any field. Sports also inculcate good qualities like honesty, team spirit, discipline, etc. They must play with full vigour and enthusiasm in the ground.

The Principal Shri Ashok Kumar welcomed the Guests and the participants and said that altogether 450Boys and Girls are going to participate in these two day long tournaments. The participants have come from DAV Barkakana, DAV Ara-Kuju, DAV Ghatotand, DAV Rajrappa and DAV Hazaribag, DAV Bharenagar, West Bokaro, Tapin North, DAV Koderma, Patratu, Urimari and Kedla. The winners and runners team at cluster level will participate at Zonal Level Sports Tournaments. He also said that equal importance to scholastic as well as co-scholastic activities are given in DAV Organizations to endure holistic development of children. On this occasion, about two hundred children of junior classes presented aerobics which entertained all.

In inaugural match of Boys group Badminton (Single) the team of Urimari defeated the team of DAV Rajrappa whereas in Badminton (Double) the team of DAV Hazaribag defeated the team of Koderma. In girls group Badminton (Single) the team of Hazaribag defeated the team of Ara Kuju.

The two day long DAV National Sports Badminton,Yoga,Judo,Table Tennis and Chess Tournaments were concluded with felicitation of winning as well as running teams and lowering down of flags.The Chief Guest Shri Ramesh Behra Zonal Manager,Bank of India Hazaribag felicitated the teams.In these tournaments,the children of DAV Hazaribag in Boys &Girls group emerged the winner in Badminton and Yoga where as the children of DAV Bharechnagar became the runners up.In Table Tennis,the students of DAV Rajrappa defeated the students of DAV Ghatotand and became the winner in boys group  whereas in girls group,the students of Hazaribag defeated the team of DAV Rajrappa.In Judo, the team of Hazaribag defeated the team of of Barkakana and in girls group,the team of Hazaribag defeated Bharechnagar.In Chess girls group, Hazaribag defeated the team of Rajapal where as in boys group Hazaribag defeated Barkakana.The Chief Guest Shri Ramesh Behra in his address said to the students that they needn't think for winning or loosing the game .What matters the most is active and willing participation of the participants.Now they should think for next events.The Guest of Honour Shri Roshan Kumar DFO encouraged the students saying that they must maintain consistency in efforts.Shri O.P.Yadav , Principal DAV Koderma proposed vote of thanks saying that the credit goes to school family for organising the tournaments very nicely in a very congenial environment.The Principal of the school Shri Ashok Kumar congratulated the for  participants for their commendable performance and extended his good wishes for successful performance at Zonal Level.To entertain the participants, a camp fire was organised at night on 15th Oct.  and they were taken to  lake and Canary Hill also.The dignitaries present on the occasion included the personalities like Badri Nath Goswami,Birendra Singh and many others.
