The 66th Republic Day was celebrated with great pomp & show here at Sr.Wing of DAV Public school, Hazaribag. The Principal of the school Shri Ashok Kumar paid the floral tribute to the father of the nation. He unfurled the national flag at 9.45 a.m. amidst the presence of more than thousand students, parents, teaching and non-teaching staff.
The Principal, Shri Ashok Kumar welcomed the Chief Guest, the Distinguished Guest and the dignitaries present on the occasion and said that it was indeed a great occasion for the school. He gave credit to the parents, devoted teaching & non-teaching staff and well-wishers for major milestones achieved by the students. He informed that all efforts are being made to make this school not only a centre for excellence but also to impart the quality and value based education to the society. In his speech, he urged the parents present to shoulder the responsibility of protecting the girls from the atrocities and getting them educated as male and female both are the two necessary wheels of the same cart. In the absence of any one of these two the cart can never run smoothly. Besides the other laurel earners for the school, he specially mentioned the name of Nachiketa Naresh Pandey who bagged the second position at national level Vaigyanika competition which was held under the aegis of DAV CMC New Delhi. Nachiketa was felicitated with a trophy, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 3000 for his excellent performance. The Principal also assured the parents that the school will be placed among the ten best schools of India by 2017 which was a dream of late N. D. Grover.
On this auspicious occasion the students like Nachiketa Naresh Pandey (2nd position in Vaiyaganika at National Level) , Prashant Jha , Nitish Kumar, Aditya Vats , the performers of the Robotics Club- Ayushi , Rishikesh, Nitish Kr. Gupta, Ayush, Sourabh Raj, Vivek Goswami, the best performers in sports- Sourav and Tousif, performers in Music-Apoorva Bardiyar , Sourav Dubey, Good in Compeering-Ananya Sinha, Kritka Rashmi & Mrinalini, Good in Academic- Swechha Mishra& Harsh Vaidya, Winner in Cross Country-Sourav, Madhukar Raj, Good NCC Cadets-Abhishek & Katyayan, Mr. Mr. Bharat Kumar (Teacher) for his outstanding contribution in the work related to CBSE & Workshops & Mr. Ratandeep Sharma, Mr. Tapan Panda, Mr. Ajit Sharma (Teachers), Winner in Painting at District Level-Debanjali Mahto, Chess Champions- Rupesh Kumar, Gaurav Kumar, & Rishav Raj were felicitated.
The Chief Guest Shri Amit Kr. Roy,Zonal Manager,Bank of India,Hazaribag Zone said that the students of DAV School have been doing exceedingly well in academics, cultural, sports, science & innovation and in social concern. He extended his good wishes to all the people present there on the glorious day.
On this occasion the NCC cadets presented a beautiful march past. The students of Junior as well as Senior wings presented Group Song (Patriotic), Group Dance (gks 'kqHkkjEHk),Group Dance (fo’o 'kkafr), Group Dance (Patriotic)

The vote of thanks was proposed by the Rahul Kumar Dubey , the Head Boy of the School. The programme was anchored by Anvita, Aditi, Shristi, Tripti, Akanksha & Harshita. Besides more than thousand parents, students, Shri Ranjan Kumar Jain, Shri Arvind Singh, Shri Yamuna Yadav, Shri Bhagwan Mishra and many other dignitaries were present.
