First Day:07.11.2014

The two day long DAV National Sports (Zonal level) Basketball & Handball Tournaments 2014 were inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr.Gurdeep Singh Vice-Chancellor Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag on 7^th November at 9.30am. On this occasion the balloons were released and the flag was also hoisted.

The participating teams are from DAV Bharechnagar, Barora, Jhinkpani ,Gandhinagar , Bokaro Sec.VI,Bariyatu, CFRI Dhanbad, Moonidih, NIT Jamshedpur,Bina(U.P.) Rihandnagar,DAV BNP,Bistupur and DAV Hazaribag.

The Principal Shri Ashok Kumar said in his welcome speech that it was indeed a memorable day for the school as the school has been entrusted with organizing such a great event in the premises. Further, under the guidance of Mr.N.K. Mishra the school students were participating in the electoral awareness campaign  launched by the Dist. Administration in the town .

The Chief Guest Dr. Gurdeep Singh lighted the inaugural lamp and said while addressing the participants that winning or losing the game does not matter what matters is the active and willing participation of the students with the truesports manship sprit.

Shri Munna Kumar Singh, Commandant, CRPF Hazaribag encouraged the participants by suggesting to play them with cool mind as the willing participation always leads to victory.

The dignitries included on the occasion were  Col. M. S. Rawat, Prof. Vikash Kumar Singh, VBU, Hazaribag, Bhaiya Abhinab Kumar, Principal, DAV CCL, Giridih, Shri M. K. Mishra, DAV Bharechnagar etc. besides the parents.

Under cultural programme aerobics and group dance were presented by the Junior  Students, Mr. K. K. Singh with Ananya and Kritika compered the whole programme.

Second Day:08.11.2014

The two day long DAV National Sports (Zonal Level) Basketball & Handball Tournaments 2014 concluded with the felicitation of winning as well as running teams and by lowering down of the DAV National Sports Flag at Sr. Wing of DAV Public School Hazaribag on 8.11.2014.

The Chief Guest Shri P.C. Sharma, I.G., (T.C. & S) BSF Camp Meru Hazaribag said that conduct of Games & Sports competitions is indeed a great initiative as it develops all good qualities like discipline, Honesty, fraternity, team sprit etc. He congratulated all teams for their wonderful performance and consoled the runners up teams saying that loosing & winning doesn’t matter. What matters the most is the willing participation of the participants. Quoting the proverb “No pain no gain” he suggested them to make efforts continuously to excel their performance.  

 In her address Mrs. Urmila Singh , Asst. Regional Director, DAV Public Schools Hazaribag Zone said that DAV institution not only wants to focus on quality education but also on the all round development of a child. Each School of DAV organization follows a pre planned academic calendar which includes co-curricular activities also. She informed that winners of zonal level tournaments in all events will participate in the DAV National Sports National Level to be held at Jaipur (Girls) & Amritsar (Boys) respectively. She also expressed her good wishes for better performance at National level tournaments.

The distinguished Guest Shri Deepak Verma, IPS, IG(Retd.) praised the participants  for their spectacular performance during the final match and said that any game requires consistent effort with self confidence and enthusiasm.

The dignitaries present on this great occasion besides parents & students were Shri Badal Jaiswal Chairman Jila Parishad Hazaribag, Shri Mahavir Lal Vishwakarma Ex M.P. Hazaribag, Shri Ranjan Jain, Dr. Hira Lal Saha, Mr. M.K. Mishra, Principal DAV Bharech Nagar, Shri S.K. Mishra Principal Tapin North, Bhaiya Abhinav Kumar Principal DAV CCL Giridih etc.

Under cultural items aerobics and group dance were presented by the students of the school. To entertain the participants a camp fire had also been organized in the evening of 7^th November.

Mrs. Kiran Mishra, Co ordinator of the event proposed vote of thanks. The whole program was anchored by Mr. K.K. Singh (teacher) with Ananya and Kritika (Students).
