Master Sheeman Hardik and Master Shubham Kumar became the 1st Runners Up of the nationally renowned FIT INDIA QUIZ 2022-23 organised jointly by Ministry of Sports & Sports Authority of India in at Khimji Kunveri Auditorium, Mumbai on 30.07.2023. It is to be known that Fit India Quiz is organized under the joint aegis of Government of India, Sports Authority of India and Khelo India Mission. The School will get Rs.15 Lakhs to develop infrastructure for the promotion for sports & the students will be awarded with Rs.75000/- each.
The Quiz Team qualified for the finals by winning the semi-final round of the Fit India Quiz held at Star Studio, Mumbai on 28th July. In this semi-final round, out of 36 teams in the quarter-finals, 12 teams made it to the finals, out of which teams from Jharkhand, Assam, Maharashtra and Puducherry made it to the finals. Telangana, Mizoram and Madhya Pradesh were the other three teams that played semi-finals in the Jharkhand pool in which DAV Hazaribagh representing Jharkhand secured the first position by scoring 140 points.
The Journey of our students started when they registered themselves for the NTA Round. The first round was organized by NTA (National Testing Agency) in which semi-finalist teams for the State Level FIQ was selected. Semi-finals were held for 8 teams on 25 May in which a total of four teams were selected for the state level finals, the fourteams were namely from DAV Hazaribagh, Bridgford Ranchi, Motilal NehruSchool Jamshedpur, and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Deoghar, The state level finals were held on 27 May 2023 in which the team of DAV Canary Hill Hazaribagh became the winner with a lead of 450 points .Around 7000 children and 662 schools from all over Jharkhand participated in this quiz. They were felicitated by the Union Sports Minister, Mr. Anurag Thakur for becoming the state level winners from Jharkhand in Fit India Quiz 2022 at Khimji Kunveri Auditorium, Mumbai, where all the state champion students from their respective states across the country had come. In this felicitation ceremony, both the students were given a medal, citation, Rs. 25000, a trophy as well as a check of Rs. 2.5 lakh for the development of sports for the school. The basic objective of which is to popularize various sports among children and keep them fit through sports. Addressing the children, the Union Sports Minister Shri Anurag Thakur as the chief guest at the felicitation ceremony said that the Fit India Quiz is such a platform that tests children's intellectual ability as well as their interest and physical fitness related to various sports and on this pretext various talents are nurtured. He appealed to the children, parents and teachers to motivate more and more people to join sports-yoga etc. to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
The credit of this huge success goes to the continuous hard work of the students, constant cooperation of the parents and proper guidance from the dedicated teachers from time to time.
