151st Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi (Gandhi Jayanti) was celebrated today in our school, in collaboration with Department of Humanities  & Art & Craft Club of  School on the premises, under the canopy of Green trees. The programme marked its beginning with Cleanliness drive. Many teachers, alumni and students of sports and NCC participated wholeheartedly in this Swachata Abhiyan. After paying floral tribute to his statue, the favourite bhajan of Gandhiji “Raghupathi Raghava Rajaram” was sung in chorus by one and all present. A devotional ambience prevailed when the song was sung in a choir to commemorate this great soul. Light on the life of Gandhiji by upholding the values of tolerance and non-violence that he used as a powerful weapon to succeed his Non-Violent movement against the British Government was thrown by me.Gandhiji always thought about the down trodden, deprived people of our country and he always promoted their education and enlightenment. Another significant historical figure  and freedom fighter, the pioneer of Jai Jawan and Jai Kishan and second prime Minister of India, lal Bahadur Shastri was also remembered on his birth anniversary. The members of Humanities, art & craft and music department beautifully arranged this programme and made this occasion a grand success.
