The DAV Public School, Hazaribag observed 21^st June as the 2^nd International Day of Yoga. To mark the Day, the common Yoga Protocol issued by the Ministry of AYUSH were practiced by all students and the staff members of the school from 7.00 am to 7.45 am under the guidance of Mr. Mithilesh Kumar Mehta-a teacher for Yoga trained at Patanjali Yog Peeth Hazaribag and Mr. B.K. Panda, Teacher of Sanskrit and Yoga specialist  at DAV Hazaribag.

The mass yoga demonstration was organized in its school ground in which active and willing participation of about three thousand children was noticed.

The Principal Shri Ashok Kumar in his address to the students said that Yoga ensures maximum health benefits to all. It focuses on breathing techniques, exercises and meditation to improve health and happiness. He suggested the children to spare at least half an hour everyday to practice the same at home. He emphasized on mass participation at least once a week during assembly hours in the morning. Neck bending , Knee movement, Tadasan, Vrikshan, Bhadrasan, Vakrasan, Bhujangasan, Kapal Bhati, Pranayam (Anulom Bilom) etc. are worth to be practiced everyday by all.

To mark the day the competitions like Inter House Debate (Yoga vs Gym), Quiz & Painting were organized in which students also participated in a large number. The teachers like Mr. Baldeo Pandey, Mrs. Kiran Mishra, Mr. N. N. Pandey, Mr. R. D. Sharma and others played a leading role in organizing the events.
