DAV Public School students Nitish Kumar and Anurag Anand have done Hazaribagh proud once again.
The teenage gaming geeks, who have developed an Android weather application exclusively for farmers, have been selected for the 43rd Jawaharlal Nehru National Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition for Children 2016, which will be hosted by NCERT in Bangalore from December 13 to 19.
School principal Ashok Kumar said he received a communiqué from the national council on Thursday. "The project of Nitish and Anurag is among 15 from across the country selected by NCERT. I congratulate the boys and their mentor, Rajendra Roy. It is a matter of great pride for our school," Kumar said.
Nitish said they were more than happy. " Mehnat bekar nahi jati kabhi (Hard work is always rewarded)."
On February 8 this year, the DAV students had bagged the best science model prize in disaster management category for their app Skuaqua at the national CBSE exhibition in Delhi.
The mobile app, developed in three months, not only forecasts weather, but also offers irrigation and fertiliser guidelines to farmers. There are 3D models on water conversation as well. Also, on board are nitty-gritty of various state and central schemes.
